Security Coordinator

Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

Reporting to the General Manager Samoa & Security Manager Fiji the key accountabilities include:

  • Leads initiation of proactive Security assessments and surveys based on results of security trends and gathered information in order to recommend mitigation measures.
  • Develops and implements specific procedures, for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, or 
    theft.
  • Conducts fact findings/investigations of security incidents/breaches with a view to determining facts, identifying gaps, drawing appropriate and supportable conclusions, and 
    making recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensures definition of physical security equipment requirements, standards to be followed, required upgrades, maintenance, and day to day operation of all security systems through system integrators or internal resources.
  • Ensures preparedness of the security outfit to meet fire situations in a professional and apt manner.  
  • Also ensure assignment of guard force, training, and regular review of the Firefighting team.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments for core business activities and all new activities are to be assessed prior to commencement, and that formal sign off of risk assessments and mitigation plans are carried out as and when required.
  • Ensure that Security Rick Management, Business Continuity Plans, and Information security are updated and tested.

Qualifications and Essential Attributes:

  • A minimum of 5 years of line management experience in consumable manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and managerial capability.
  • Proven ability to build and develop sound business plans to achieve long and short-term objectives.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills in order to build effective and optimal relationships within a unionized, mixed gender workforce of a 
    multi-cultural background.
  • Display a sound and mature judgment/ decision-making ability:
  • Proven track record in providing strategic direction, planning, and establishing priorities that ensure an effective work structure which maximizes productivity and achieves goals.  
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles and application to the business.
  • Ability to deal with public bodies, external political and trade 
    associations, and regulators.
