Draftsman (Construction & Project Support)

Role Overview 

The Draftsman will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accurate construction and shop drawings, supporting project planning, and assisting the Project Engineer with on-site coordination and supervision of BBL's building works. The role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site realities, not just drafting in isolation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and update construction, shop, and as-built drawing using CAD software.
• Assist the Project Engineer in reviewing structural and architectural drawings.
• Support structural steel framing detailing and coordination.
• Update drawings to reflect design changes and site conditions.
• Assist with project coordination and supervision on site conditions.
• Liaise with contractors, fabricators, and suppliers to clarify drawings.
• Ensure drawings align with engineering requirements, specifications, and stands.
• Support documentation for project approvals and records.
• Assist with progress tracking and reporting to the Project Engineer.

What We're Looking For

• A Draftsman with construction or site-based experience.
• Strong working knowledge of CAD software.
• Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and methods.
• Comfortable supporting on-site supervision when required.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work closely with engineers, contractors, and site teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Construction, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3-7 years experience in detailing is a strong advantage.
• Experience with structural steel detailing is a strong advantage.
• Site experience or exposure to construction projects preferred.
