JOB TITLE: Field Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Technical
REPORTS TO (TITLE): Head of Technical

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:
You will play a crucial role in securing sites for the installation of telecommunication towers, ensuring the expansion and enhancement of the company's network infrastructure. Your duties will involve assessing potential sites, conducting research, and collaborating with various stakeholders to complete the site acquisition process successfully.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: (maximum of 8 duties)

Installation & Maintenance:

  • Install, configure, and maintain technical equipment and systems at Digicel towers/sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Diagnose and repair technical issues to minimize downtime.

Technical Support:

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network-related issues.
  • Document all service activities and resolutions in a detailed and timely manner.

Project Management:

  • Assist in planning and executing technical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate new technologies and systems.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their technical needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client inquiries and technical assistance.

Academic qualifications and experience required for job:

  • Tertiary qualification would be an advantage.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer communication and process management skills.
  • Proven ability to follow process with strong attention to detail

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are key.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Samoan – orally and written.
  • Ability to multi-task with pressing deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and individually.
  • Strong administrative and facilitator skills Ability to understand and activate motivation and performance in others.
