We're on the hunt for a dynamic Agency Manager to take charge of our Pago Pago operations and work closely with our Managing Director – Transam Samoa, (MD). In this pivotal role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving excellence across multiple agencies, ensuring every process, system, and resource is firing on all cylinders. Your leadership will be key to fueling the success and growth of the NPDL organization, making a real impact every day!
Here is some of what you will be doing:
- Drive outstanding results through strategic sales leadership, planning, and execution. Boost revenue, cut costs, and implement effective controls while spearheading process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee and optimize agency Debtor Management, ensuring financial health and timely collections.
- Lead the Pago Pago team and business to success, managing EBITDA and setting the overall direction.
- Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning to align the agency's long-term goals with our vision for growth and success.
- Make strategic pricing decisions and lead high-stakes negotiations with customers to maximize profitability.
- Ensure all operations comply with Principal requirements, maintaining the highest standards.
- Manage resources across all Pago Pago business units—Stevedoring, Customs, Shipping Agencies, and Air Freight—to achieve outstanding results.
- Ensure full compliance with all national and international legislative requirements.
- Keep the MD and senior leadership informed of competitive activity, market trends, and industry intelligence.
- Cultivate and manage VIP account relationships, driving business development while engaging with industry leaders.
- Prepare detailed reports and maintain documentation that tracks operational performance and highlights areas for improvement.
- Support the MD in driving performance enhancement initiatives across Pago Pago.
- Ensure the agency consistently meets or exceeds all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by the MD to contribute to the overall success of the operation.
Qualification

- Business Savvy: A degree in business or equivalent senior-level experience is essential.
- Shipping Industry Veteran: Minimum of 10 years in the shipping industry or a similar role, with deep expertise.
- Trade Management Pro: 5+ years of proven experience in senior-level trade management.
- Leadership Expert: 5+ years in a leadership role, driving teams to success.
- Team Management Guru: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing teams, inspiring top performance.

- Clean Driver’s License: Full, current, and clean driver’s license required
This is a full-time permanent role based in Fagatogo, Pago Pago, American Samoa requiring occasional travel to the Pacific islands. As you have worked in shipping in the past, you will know a level of flexibility is required at times to work extended hours including weekends, public holidays, etc. In return we offer a challenging and stimulating environment.
