Security Coordinator

As the Security Coordinator you will be reporting directly to the General Manager and will be responsible to provide overall security supervision of BAT Samoa operated sites.

Key Accountabilities

  • Directs the initiation of proactive Security assessments and surveys based on results of security trends and gathered information in order to recommend mitigation measures
  • Conducts fact findings/investigations of security incidents/breaches with a view to determining facts, identifying gaps, drawing appropriate and supportable conclusions, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Ensures definition of physical security equipment requirements, standards to be followed, required upgrades, maintenance, and day to day operation of all security systems through system integrators or internal resources
  • Ensure that Security Risk Management, Business Continuity Plans, and Information security are updated and Tested
  • Keep abreast with available security services in the market to ensure that A class services are provided to business in order to achieve security objectives
  • Plans and ensures appropriate level of administrative and logistics support to security personnel to maintain operational efficiency
  • Liaises with fire services of local private/public installations for soliciting guaranteed support in fire emergencies in factory/warehouses.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with an added relevant professional qualification in security/defense management or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience of which 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proficient in MS office suite
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills in order to build effective and optimal relationships within a unionized, mixed gender workforce of a multi-cultural background.
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles and application to the business.
  • Ability to deal with public bodies, external political and trade associations, and regulators
  • Good time management and communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders Good
  • You must be fluent in written and verbal communications in English and Samoan
