The Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) is a center for training excellence and collaboration, working in partnership with regional governments, industry and TVET training providers to develop a more skilled, inclusive and productive workforce aligned with domestic and international labour market requirements that enhances Pacific prosperity.



The Role

The Learning Support Facilitator will support the APTC students in Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (LLN). The Facilitator will be responsible for the development and delivery of integrated tailored support to enhance students’ learning and to complement work done by APTC trainers.  The position will be based in Samoa and may involve travel to other pacific countries.


How will you be assessed:

  1. Recognized teaching qualification (minimum 2 years’ full-time equivalent study) which includes study in Language, Literacy and Numeracy, English as a Second Language (ESL) or English OR a degree with at least two years’ study in linguistics, communication, ESL or literacy and numeracy.
  2. Recent relevant teaching experience delivering English language or Literacy and Numeracy for a minimum of two years, preferably in an adult vocational learning environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience in supporting the learning of students with different cultural backgrounds and abilities.
  4. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate learning outcomes for students.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Office programs (including Microsoft Word and Outlook) and experience in using the internet.
  6. Prepared to work in remote locations and to be flexible in the delivery and support of training programs including the ability to work outside of core business hours.
  7. Demonstrated experience and the ability to complete required administrative tasks, including required delivery compliance documentation

Contract Duration: Until 30th June 2022


Total Remuneration Package (TRP):  WST45,933 per annum, inclusive of 9% superannuation.
