The Samoa Qualifications Authority (SQA) is the principal organisation mandated to provide policy advice, regulate, quality assure and coordinate Post School Education and Training (PSET) in Samoa. Its long-term strategy is guided by the Education Sector Plan (ESP) 2019-2024 and the PSET Strategic Plan 2020-2024 with its Corporate Plan 2021-2024 guiding its work over the medium-term.
The PSET Support Fund Mechanism aims to ensure the quality of post school education and training in Samoa. The initiative is linked to the United Nation Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education. It also informs the Key Outcome Seven of the Strategy for the Development of Samoa and the SQA long term vision of improving standards and quality assurance of education and training delivered at all levels. One of the target approaches of the PSET Support Fund is the provision of Technical Assistants to assist providers with the packaging of programmes for accreditation.
In line with the above, the service of a Technical Assistant is required to work with the Moamoa Theological College to package its Diploma Level IV in Theology Programme to meet SQA Quality Standards for Programme Accreditation.
