Job Description & Skills/Qualifications Required

REPORTS TO:         SHA Executive Council and secretariat
PURPOSE: To provide assistance with clerical services and office work to assist with the smooth operation of the secretariat
The Office Assistant will be expected to:

  • Serving clients in a professional way and perform receptionist duties for all visitors and telephone contacts
  • Assist with answering telephone and taking messages, making photocopies, binding and filing 
  • Able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and email.
  • Able to handle clients with great respect and higher courtesy with excellent public relations skills 
  • Able to communicate clearly and fluently both orally and in writing, confident in writing and speaking English and Samoan and conveys information in an effective and efficient manner 
  • Have excellent computer skills in Microsoft office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of the Tourism Sector and Industry
  • Commits to assisting and completing office task and allocated work and demonstrates cooperation with other staff 
  • Acts with integrity at all times and demonstrates precision in assigned work and operations and decision making also punctual to work and all events expected to attend 
  • Proven knowledge of experience in a clerical position 
  • Ensure the office is clean and tidy and presentable daily
  • Provide mutual support to other staff within the Secretariat
